Since Apple gave up its cooperation with Intel and started the road of self-developed M-series processors, Intel has been trying to win back Apple's heart, but in vain, Apple has removed the last trace of Intel.

iFixit's dismantling of Apple's MacBook M2 shows that the Intel JHL8040R USB4/Thunder 3 timer chip used before has disappeared, and it has been replaced with a solution from an unknown brand. Only one number U09PY3 can be seen on the surface.

It is not clear which manufacturer this new chip came from, and no useful information can be found from the serial number.

The only certainty is that Apple has completely said goodbye to Intel, and there is no longer any relationship.

Interestingly, AMD's new generation of Ryzen 6000 series notebooks no longer use Intel USB4 timer chips, but changed to KB8001 Matterhorn provided by Swedish startup Kandou, which claims to have entered five of the world's top six PC OEM manufacturers.
